Planning permission refused Boxley Village    September 29, 2017

On 28 September councillors and residents attended the MBC Planning Committee to object to the proposed development of two dwelling on land to the West of Forge Lane at Boxley Village.

The parish council had held a number of meetings in the village and had kept residents informed of the progress of the planning application resulting in many villagers attending the Maidstone meeting. The parish council’s Environment Committee, chaired by Wendy Hinder, had objected to the proposed development on the grounds that it contravened a number of planning policies but as the Planning Officer’s recommendation was to grant planning permission the application was referred to the Maidstone Planning Committee.

This referral allowed a resident James Willmott, Parish Councillor Lynn Clarke and Borough Councillor Wendy Hinder to speak directly to members and give arguments as to why the application should be refused. After these detailed arguments members of the Planning Committee refused planning permission.
